How to Purchase Extended Warranty (USA only)
|
Effective date starting May 1st, 2009. For all the end users who purchase MSI Brand
notebooks (exclude MSI Wind series) must register products prior to be able to purchase
the extended warranty. Click
Register main page. This warranty policy DOES NOT apply to MSI Wind series,
barebone, whitebox, OEM products, or open box product.
The following items (inclusive but not limited to) are covered under this warranty.
CPU, HDD, MEMORY, MOTHERBOARD, MXM GPU (if any), KEYBOARD, TOUCHPAD, AUDIO DEVICES,
OPTICAL DRIVES (BD Combo, DVD/CD-RW Combo, DVD Dual Layer Burner, LCD*, Wireless
Module, Bluetooth Module (if any), built-in buttons, built-in webcam.
*LCD (Liquid Crystal Display) is covered for two (2) years only, limited one (1)
LCD claim per year.
Note: Primary battery is covered for 1 year only. AC Adapter is covered for 6 months.
Accessories (inclusive but not limited to) such as mouse, carrying bag?are not cover
by warranty except DOA.

Terms and Condition

1.

After the Warranty Extension Service has purchased, the thirty-six (36) months limited
warranty will upgrade to thirty-six (36) month Total Care warranty automatically.
|
|
2.
|
The Warranty Extension Service must be purchased within the 30 days of Notebook
original purchased date. (The notebook purchase receipt or other proof of purchase
is required.)
|
|
3.
|
The Warranty Extension Service DOES NOT covers Cosmetic damages (scratches, dents…etc),
lost, stolen, incorrect or inadequate custom installation, intentional damage, recovery
or transfer data, Accident or nature.
|
|
4.
|
The Warranty Extension Service only covers failures or malfunctions that occur during
the warranty period and under normal use conditions, as well as any material or
workmanship defects. The warranty will not apply if:
|
|
|
- The user is unable to provide proof of warranty and/or proof of purchase
- The warranty seals have been broken or altered
- The product has been tampered, repaired and/or modified by non-MSI Service Technician
- Damages due to use outside of the operation or storage parameters or environment
detailed in the User's Manual
- The serial number on the notebook, components or accessories has been altered, cancelled
or removed
- Damage caused by improper installation or improper connection to a peripheral device
- Damage caused by accident, natural disaster, intentional or accidental misuse, abuse,
neglect or improper maintenance, or use under abnormal conditions
- Damages from use of parts not manufactured or sold by MSI
- Damages from using third party software or from virus

Due to the natural loss of battery capacity, consumable parts, free accessories
and bundles (including but not limited to Primary battery, carry cases, mouse and
AC/DC power cord) are not covered by Warranty Extension Service
|
|
6.
|
Warranty Extension Service can only be purchased and applies to products purchased
in the United States
|
|
7.
|
MSI will cover two-way shipping between your location and the point of service
|
|
8.
|
Extended Warranty is transferable to any other party that is not the original buyer
of the Product
|
|
9.
|
Extended Warranty Service purchase is NOT refundable
|
Customer must contact MSI technical support and obtain a RMA number from MSI RMA
department prior to returning the defective Product to MSI. Customer needs to return
the defect Product to MSI within 15 days from the RMA issuance date. Failing to
do so may prevent customer from being eligible for the issued RMA number and thus
Customer may need to request another RMA number.
In the case of specific part which is no longer manufactured, the then current closest
functionally equivalent Replacement Equipment will be read to deliver to the Customer
within seven (7) working days after MSI Technician has determined that Replacement
Equipment is necessary.
*There will be a deductible after the first service repair per year under this program.
